DON'T JUDGE THE BOOK BY IT'S COVER (or maybe we should?)

I am a little new at this blog thing, so bear with me, till I get the hang of it.
I created this blog so I can vent. Then go on with life.
I try to be a "good muslim". What does that really mean?
I would like to know what people really define as a good muslim, specially
with all the attention in the media, about Tehran's strict dress code.
Does the appearance really decide whether you are good muslim or is it what's in your heart.
Or is it both??

Assalamualaikum,

I think hijab is 50% about covering up and 50% about the modesty at heart. Not like you go all covered up, and flirt, sleep around, and wear tons of makeup and perfume..

Young muslimah,
Asalamu Alaikum,
Thank you for your input, I totally agree with you people have forgotten the true meaning of why we cover and the importance of it. People who don't cover get hasseled by those who do and then those of us who cover are constantly being watched so people can find fault in us and call us hypocrites.
People should just stop going around blaming others just to make themselves look better.

Asalaamu alaikoum
Being Muslim is in your heart. Each Muslim is at a different stage of their journey in Islam. We each have a different level of faith at different times in our lives. As far as hijaab I believe that when your heart truly desires to follow the path of Allah then hijaab comes naturally.
Often you read scholars give all these reasons for hijaab (avoid rape, avoid mens looks etc) but those are reasons man has thought up for it to be a good idea. They may even be good reasons (I disagree personally) but I think the best reason is because Allah told us too.
May Allah reward you my dear friend sensible girl :)
